The Truth
I have been building websites for well over 4 years now and sold them all off. Either for a lack of time and real commitment, even thou they had built a good steady following. The way I saw it, if I could not maintain them and make them constantly better what was the sense.
I have always wanted to build a blog but thought they were really for people who liked to mainly talk about themselves and keep it between friends and family.
I decided to start this blog with the intent to grow it like a website, yet also keep it personal and as true to myself as I could. I started with a simple word-press theme and while it looked boring it was very easy to control and update. My personality never lets me due anything simple nor easy. I love a challenge. I love to build something and watch it grow larger in size and complexity.
The last week has been anything but fun. In my quest to build bigger I have come up against many obstacles that led this site to become sluggish and at times unload-able.
As I have posted earlier I moved the entire site to a larger host that was supposedly faster and could handle much more traffic. What I failed to realize is that because I built so much into this blog, moving it and the database what not an easy task. I decided to revert back to my server I have been dealing with for the last 5 years.
What all this means for you, my kind visitor , is hopefullya faster, informative and not so complex blog. The theme I have for this site is a great one, but it does have a main flaw. It requires lots of articles to be kept current and updated on a daily basis. I still want to fulfill that need.
I have been contacted by a large corporation who wants to underwrite this blog and add new and fresh content of theirs along with mine. I feel it is a good marriage and even thou some of this blog will be part of a large corporation, the intent and soul will remain mine and hopefully yours, by your comments and input.
Lastly I have been fortunate enough to have joined some great blogging communities. One in particular is called “blogcatalog” and for those who are not familiar with this site, to me, has the best writers, bloggers and group of friends I have had to ever meet here on the net. I get the chance to read many of their blogs and while I do not profess to be any kind of writer. I goal is to try at least to be one tenth as well versed as those I truly admire.
The truth is I built this site mainly for men. As men we like visuals and lots of not so serious posts.I will continue to find and distribute them regularly. But the one thing that has surprised me the most. Is over half of the readers on this blog are women and to that I thank you.
Oh and for the men here is your visual component:

Good luck on your new blogging adventure. I hope it’s highly profitable.
Thanks for thinking of us gals with the eye candy. He’s ugly as heck (face wise), but the body is smoking hot.
The joke I stole from you is my post today. Just so you know. Thanks.
Have a terrific day Glenn.
You have a great site and expanding it to make it bigger and better is certainly challenging and rewarding. As you grow, your site grows with you and that’s what makes personal blogs exciting. Whatever endeavours you chose, I wish you all the best and I know you will do good.
PS Thanks for the eye candy.
Sounds awesome and I hope it goes well for you. Is it at all strange that my eyes spent more time analyzing the woman? Maybe I should refrain from mentioning that to my other half…it could be that, as Comedy Plus mentions, his body does not make up for the puggyliscious (I enjoy making up my own variations of words) face.
Just wanted to tell you that you really have an awesome website with alot of good info here. I hope the partnership between you and the corporation works out. Love the pic of the girl haha
Glenn,
Thank you for all this hard work you do; you’ve created a terrific site. I could sit here and read and read, hours passing.
Thank you also for supporting my blog!!
