I Got a Boner, Really I Did

Fall is winding down here in the Northeast and the sight of colors, the smell of the falling leaves and mostly for me, the crisp night air all add up to a wonderful time of year to enjoy.

However, unfortunately today was a one on  a scale of ten. I have the most inconsiderate, rude and downright mean boss I could never in a million words describe to you.  It is beyond belief how despicable and hated this man is. And believe me  I have been around the block a few times and nowhere at anytime have a met anyone close to what a waste of human flesh this windbag represents. Yet I keep going back there, not just for the money, although that is the most important determining factor to keep me coming back. I go there because of the passion I have for men’s clothing and the great friends I have met through the years.

Teaching and showing men, how to and also why to dress appropriately. I might be a dinosaur in this day and age of jeans and tee shirts, but a man has but one thing he can wear to show power, authority, distinction, class, ambition, consideration and how he feels about himself.  And that piece of clothing that can do all of that, is a Suit.

This post is not about menswear, I brought this up to try and explain to you why I still drive an hour one way to put up with this tyrant. I do it because I love it, because I care able my customers and I do it because it is my passion. I can also say the same three things about this blog. I love writing in it each day or night, I care about you the reader and I have a passion for it.

For me, when I write something in a post, I try my best to present something I would enjoy to read if I were you. God knows there are tons of blogs out there, and the mere fact that you are reading this right now, means a lot to me. You could pick any blog to read, but here you are and that is probably the main reason why I want to continue to do my best and give you something new each day, no matter how trivial or earth shattering. I believe that earning someones trust is so important not only in real life but on here also. I also think it is much harder on here as you do not get to present yourself in person and therefore are not able to connect on an eye to eye level.

So, why and how do we pick what blog, whose words we choose to read ? It comes down to a trust that you foster slowly over time and nurture it, just like you would with any good friendship you have in the real world we live in.

Look, I came home from a really shitty day and now I am able to tell whoever is on the other side of this connection about it. Whether they care or not, is not really the point to me. Knowing that I can, and perhaps one or two people on the other end can relate to my experience, is a pretty powerful and good feeling. So for that,  thank you.

OK, enough philosophizing, now the real reason I am posting tonight. I gave you this preamble because as most people who have ever written anything that requires consistent thought and has to come up with something fresh and new, can sometimes run into a writers block. Maybe because of the lousy day I had, it affected me enough, not be able to concentrate on a topic to verse about.

But, that changed and quickly right after I sat down to check my email when in the box jumped out this note. And I quote:

Yup you got it, MOB is the first EVER to receive a boner in their email. And now without future adieu I share this Boner with each and everyone of you.

How can you not forget any troubles you have when you have a Boner looking at you, right in front of your face.

I like to thank my family and friends, my parents who are looking down from above with pride, J Giddy himself, my co-workers and most of all you the reader of this blog we call Man Over Board. I share this boner with you.

And just remember if you think of crazy shit, then write about it for all the world to see, you too, may someday get your very own Boner Award. But you will never get the first one, that’s all mine!!!! Sorry to say all boners from here on out are sloppy seconds
