Glenn, thanks for sharing. I too find myself spending more time on my blog than hanging with hubby at times. But he enjoys TV in his down time, so in my case what's the harm. He does tell me "come talk to me" when he wants to chat and I know that's my cue that he needs my time and attention :)

I have no plans to give up my blog any time soon, but maybe a schedule would help so that I blog more when he's at work or busy on his own project. Hmmm, better give this some serious thought. I love my hubby :)

I think many people can relate, and I am one of those people. I think that's why I have one blog that I post to periodically and one that I do quite often with reviews. You do start to run out of content and you lose readers at the same time.

This rings many bells with little me. First start with my main opinion website and I already had about 30 articles to choose from. I had years of pent up frustration from questions I've been asked, events I've witnessed or been a part of and such things, and as a result, it was incredibly easy to get pages after pages on digital paper. It was also a relief and in a way I had been writing all the things I wish I had screamed to the people, events that caused the thoughts and reactions.

Nowadays, I've reached the point where I pretty much wrote all that I have felt in the past. It's not as easy or quick to write up something as it was on day one through ten. I rely on the present to fill up the writing needs, whether it be something on tv, something someone mentions or does, or just a thing that happens to come up in the moment. It can be a hit or miss and is not something that seems to happen daily. But, the moment something happens that I have a strong reaction or opinion on, I get to a make a digital memory of it.

A wee bit of ranting there, don't we all love that. At this point my website has a meaning for me, it's only a bonus if other bodies find any meaning in it as well. Otherwise the moment I start writing for the sake of reeling in others, I would have in one way or another, have abandoned my own thoughts. Which I could never do for strangers.

What was I talking about now? The clock just ticked 8am...one can wish to be as lucky as that other blogger. I guess as they say in lotto..you never know.

I enjoyed the post Glenn as I can relate to spending maybe too much time on my blog, and the marketing etc. that goes along with it.

Blogging is a terrific way to voice what's on your mind and share your thoughts, no matter if you present them in a serious or humorous manner. I've had my blog for a little less than two years - and frankly it's only been since I've been out of work these past few months that I've been able to work on it regularly. It continues to be great fun, but once the new business starts up in January, I expect my posts will diminish in frequency as well, but that's ok - because part of the joy is to have that creative outlet to look forward to, to get away from those things we call "work".

I hear you because it happened to me too. That's why I don't do much blog lately. Because my hubby doesn't understand it. He said that I spend my spare time on blogging instead spending with him and my daughter :). And also like you sometimes hard to think and make an interesting post. Talk to you later. enjoy the rest of the week.

I have never let anything or anyone ball and chain this girls mind for the exact reason that so many bloggers quit or burn out.

If you are forced to do anything there is no passion or realism in the delivery. This is the same reason I comment selectively because I am a firm believer in 'if you have nothing good to say...say nothing at all'!

Life is all about organization and prioritizing ours time on earth.
Family first my friend...never forget that!
Computers do not make good bed fellows :)

Your intelligence is glowing and I look forward to your thoughts when they happen!

Hi Glenn, I agree with Joella, that frequency is not as important as quality, but a regular schedule is even better to keep your readers. In my case, I just blog when I feel like doing it, not to attract readers or make money but just to express how I feel that day. I do not have a schedule, So, I do not have a lot of regular readers. However, I really feel good receiving comments from a few readers. Speaking of schedule, my wife and I will be flying to Manila at the end of the week. Stay there for 4 days and fly to my island Paradise, Marinduque and hopefully hibernate there for 5 months, then back here in California to be in time to pay my state and federal taxes. ouch, ouch.. so, if you do not hear from me for a while, you know I in the beach not in front of my PC. Keep Blogging but do not neglect the family specially your spouse!

I hear you on this one. I don't do much original stuff, and it's getting tougher to find/steal/ funny stuff. I need a set of writers I think. I can so relate.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)
