It Takes More Than An Apple A Day

interview header

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce all of our readers to one of our favorite blogs. It was created by a man by the name of Mike Foster, who, as you will soon see, is a very talented and creative individual.

Mike uses his talents to teach and amuse  his audience  on how to live your life in a full and healthy manner. Through his vast array of self made videos and music, not only will you learn some great tips on living a fuller life, but you will enjoy Mikes humor and song writing abilities, that keep us coming back for more. Thanks Mike!!

Here is a quick interview we had with Mike along with links to his blog and one of my favorite videos called “Social Networking Blues”

Mike

1. Who is Mike Foster and how did you come about creating these wonderful blogs you have given us?

I consider myself a health and fitness guru, for want of a better word, but really just someone who, through years of trial and error, success and failure, persistence and auto didactic learning, has discovered many helpful and proven ways to change myself for the better.  I wanted to find a way to share my knowledge with as many people as possible and found that the Internet, through websites and blogging, was the easiest and least expensive way to get my word out.

2. Obviously you have focused on personal development in particular physical, emotional and mental. The one question I am sure many of our readers would like to know, do you practice what you preach?

I most certainly live what I advocate, every day in every way.  I am a vegetarian, workout every day, write and read most days, and am always searching for new areas of personal improvement  in my own life, that more often than not end up on my websites.

3. It seems that you have a very busy schedule, what is your favorite activity that you enjoy on your free time?

I love playing my guitar and writing songs.  I also enjoy recreational reading, to go along with all the other reading I do.  Landscaping, gardening, cooking, traveling, spending time with my wife and son.  Lately, I’ve been experimenting with different methods of meditation.

4. You have made so many great videos, do you have a favorite and why? Do you know how many videos that you have actually posted so far?

I have produced over 300 videos, many can be seen on YouTube, but all are available, for now, at livelife365.com.  “I Miss My Hair” still makes me laugh, and if was a blast to write, record, and film.  My green tea video is by far my most popular, and is a favorite.  I’m proud of my “Veg Out With Mike” vids, as well as my How-to’s…like a parent asked to select a favorite child, this is a difficult question.

5. We know you’re married but we never see your better half? Does she ever get in front of the camera?

You can catch a glimpse of her in my “Hair” video, but she prefers to stay in the background when it comes to my website, though her camerawork can be seen in several of my videos, most recently many of my Maui videos.

6. What would you say to someone, who in this economy is down and out. Are there Mike’s keys to success?

My message is the same in today’s challenging economic times as it is during the best of times and that is to live your life every day in every way, never let anyone or anything stand in the way of all that you desire to be.  Your life is like a novel, make it a good one and never, ever waste a single day.  You get back what you put into it.

7. Is there any subject you won’t talk about.

I will talk about any positive issue that promotes my triad of balance and healthy living, personal development, and entertainment.

8. Finally Mike,  can you give our readers of Man Over Board a few good pointers that they can take with them from your outlook on life?

I said a lot already about this in question six, but mostly, I try to treat each day as a gift that should be cherished and spent bettering myself and, whenever possible, those around me.  I truly believe each of us has a special something to offer the world, and to not spend one’s life dedicated to finding what that one thing is, and then sharing it with mankind, is an incomplete and wasted life.  Life is too precious to not live to its  fullest.  We can change the world, and ourselves, if we wanted to.  Peace…
