The Black Frame of Mind: Part Deux

This is a re-post from a great blog I read daily called Inconsequential Logic it is authored by a very talented and good friend of mine Roschelle Nelson . After reading it I commented. Well maybe comment is not the correct word, it was more of a rant. Either way I felt it important to re-post it here in order to get more readers involved and to hopefully get a larger dialog going. As a woman of color living in these United States of America, I can tell you just a few things about my black frame of mind.

I’m sick of immoral politician getting their palms greased by corporate America and falsely assuming we, the American people, are naive enough to not know it.

I’m sick of the color of my skin being an issue. As cheesy as it sounds, there is only one race – the human race!

I live for the day that color, ethnicity, gender, and sexual preference aren’t an issue with regard to whether a person is capable of performing the task in front of them.

I live for the day that being a Mississippian isn’t synonymous with bare feet, bucked teeth, inbreeding and illiteracy.

What I’ve shared is only a fraction of my frame of mind! I can’t speak for others because I’m not roaming around inside their heads trying to decipher what their mental thought processes are.

So, to Rush Limbaugh (a fat piece of elephant dung) who recently attempted to shed some light on the black frame of mind by stating the following:

“I got two more stories in the stack today about how black unemployment is through the roof. Black unemployment is terrible. The black frame of mind is terrible, they’re depressed, they’re down — Obama’s not doing anything for ‘em. How is that hoax and change workin’ for ya? They’re all livid. I mean, they thought there were gonna be an exact 180-degree economic reversal and it’s done nothing but get bad for everybody, but they’re especially upset about it because they look at him as one of them, and now they feel abandoned. And I’m sure Tiger Woods’ choice of females not helping ‘em out with their attitudes there either.”

I’ve got 4 words and 1 contraction for ya -

YOU HAVEN’T A FUCKING CLUE!!!

Here is my rambling comment from this post and hope any of you who read this post will please give us your own opinions as to what you believe in.

First off let me apologize for being absent for the last week. Personal life can be a bitch for bloggers. Boy did I pick the wrong post of yours to comment on. To put it plainly, this is like opening a very bad Pandora’s box full of all kinds of vile shit. But let me add a least a few cents from someone who once was supposedly part of the ruling class, that being a middle aged white man. HA (Warning, this is going to just be a compilation of random thoughts with no clear direction. You can call it a Disheartened Frame Of Mind)

When will we all see the day that prejudice is finally laid to rest? That would be a solid NEVER. No matter what race, creed, religion or sex we belong to, prejudice is inherent in our being just as heartburn lives in us all. Some experience much more gastric maladies then others, but we all have gas to pass.

Yeah you can be disgusted at the idiots that have large pulpits in which to preach their toxic venom, but it isn’t just the people from the right, the left is also just as guilty and those who settle in the middle, well to me their either air heads or just do damn afraid to look in the mirror period. But what the hell, all of us are listening and to top it off we fucking PAY them!!! And handsomely, especially the more vile and obnoxious they are.

Take the Bravo network for instance, it originally was to be the arts and independent channel for people sick of the network drones. It was going to be a network devoid of idiots and have programs like “Inside the Actors Studio “, independent films, et all. Now it’s filled with rich housewives who blabber on about who has the bigger set of tits or who slept with who. And they get also paid handsomely to do so.

Whose to blame for this? We are, we watch it. OK maybe not everyone, but we all watch or read some tabloid garbage that we forked over our money for. The biggest personalities of 2009 have been Jon Gosselin,, OctaMom, Paris Hilton, well you get it, hell none of these people even possess talent, yet people want to know more, why?

We all someday pray that countries can understand that we all inhabit one planet in which we must all claim responsibility for it’s well being. Boy we certainly are doing a great job of that. Let’s face it, if we can’t get neighbors, who live next door to agree on an issue, why the hell do we believe nations could possibly agree.

Boy, bloggers should never bring up politics or religion. We’re suppose to be a nice group of peeps, who take pictures of our cats and dress them up to look like us at a Halloween party. Or we give out info to each other on what new widget makes a prettier flash. Or how we can sit at home and rake in the big bucks as we sleep.

Now I have no freaking idea what point I was originally going to make, I guess your rant got me to ranting and the next person will take over ranting where I left off.

So thanks a lot Roschelle see what you gone and did to me . I do have one bone to pick with you thou. The picture in your article has a white middle aged guy(Limbaugh) with a cigar and a nice suit. I know many people and societies blame the white guy, but lets face it am a minority just like all other oppressed people. The old boy network isn’t about the color of your skin, what you look like, if your a male or female. It all evolves around how much green you have in your pocket.

The real truth is, that 90% of the wealth is owned by 2% of the population. And guess what, that ain’t gonna change. Except for an act of GOD, an act of mutual self destruction, or the world being controlled by a large military machine, that will give us real folk just enough crumbs to keep us in our place. And as each day goes by, this seems to me anyway what is happening.

But seeing this so called recession having no end in sight. Having a black man, women, Hindu or a donkey sitting in the White House, makes no difference. Having a congress full of pork barrel junkies who have free health care for the rest of their life making sure all the citizens of the US will have free health-care also makes no difference. This is not what our constitution consisted of when first drawn up and the Patriot Act made sure we are close to changing from the United States of America, to the United States of Corporations.

WE ALL SHARE A BLACK* FRAME OF MIND.
