Hades in Haiti, Aggravating Adgitized, Entrecard Errors & The Birds

A few, but to the point posts today on various rants:

1. First,  Haiti. It seems no matter where you go there it is. It is a human horrific tragedy. And no matter how many celebrities join in, it won’t scratch the surface of what Haiti is in need of.  Before the earthquake ravaged what little this poor nation had, there it sat, merely to the south of us. It was fucked then, when the dictator Baby Doc was at the helm. There have been documentary after documentary about the plight of this small island, yet now because we see Anderson Cooper on the ground we decide to act.  So in keeping with the mourning of such a tragedy we get to hear Justin Timberlake’s version of Hallelujah. We left you his version at the bottom of this post.

Please don’t get us wrong, we are a very caring nation. Hell we are the police of the world. Yet we can’t stop the violence in our own nations capital, or help a once proud city like Detroit become livable again. The fact that our economic demise came from greed and believe me, you can mark this on your calendar, we are far from the end of it.

Anyone in the financial know, can tell you the reason we collapsed in the first place. Because we believed that the Almighty Alan Greenspan who held the reigns of our central bank during four presidencies believed in a free and open market, was wrong!!!

We needed regulation and guess what? We are still not regulated, especially in the the open black hole that led us here in the first place.  A little thing called OTC derivatives. What the hell are they you ask?  If you want to know, there is plenty on it, and if you have 40 minutes we highly suggest looking at Frontline and the piece they did about it a month back. It is aptly named THE WARNING. Hell maybe it will happen in 2012, right after Iran has their nuclear warhead on it’s way to Israel. Then all the doomsday believers can say “We Told You So”!!

2. Those of you bloggers that use Adgitized have noticed it has been down, more then it has been up this week. We feel bad to for person(s) running it. Evidently they have server problems or something. It is a good thing,  We believe for new bloggers, to get new traffic onto their blogs. But we decided this week  we celebrated our 3 month old if not older birthday and it was time to wean ourselves off the Adgitize tit. We realize we will be losing some traffic, yet this week we have had more hits then ever. So thank you Adgitize and hope you continue to do well and prosper. We never say never.

3. We also noticed today the Entrecard is not counting our hits to and from our sites and advertisers. We am sure it is also a glitch. But maybe an omen altogether. We know we have met wonderful people in both programs and without them it would have taken double the time to get as many viewers to this site. But in as much as we appreciate them being there at the start. How many new readers are we bringing to our blogs?  Most are the same people that each day come and drop them leave. We know some people stay and read, but think it is the small minority and not the larger majority. We will still keep Entrecard, but for how long is not known as of yet.  We believe Margo at Screaming Me Me did away with EC and we still visit her blog, it is so well done. We believe if you give your readers new and interesting content, they will stop by. They just don’t have to dump on you when you get their. Unless of course you want to.

4. And lastly, this is awesome, whoever thought of this was either high on drugs or totally in need of friends. But we wanted to leave off with a good note, in this case more then one good note. Who’d a thunk birds can play instruments???????

  1. I agree with you on Haiti. I also agree with you on the cesspools we have right here in the U.S. Why do we have them? Because we are so politically correct. Because being a thug is so in. Because being a gangster is fashionable. That's why we are seeing city after city sink deeper. It's a sad thing.

Have a terrific day Glenn. Big hug. :)

  2. Hi, Glenn. Yep, Haiti was screwed up big time before the terrible earthquake. What really irks me now is all the looting, lawlessness, and the sex trafficking of the newly homeless kids. Yeah, that makes me want to dig deeper into my wallet to send some more aid over there.

The Adgitize thing is started to irk me. Yes, they have brought in more traffic which I appreciate, but I don't know if I wil stay another month or not.

Entrecard. Yep, I don't think I am getting many new readers from them, either. Lots of nice people, like you, that I have met through it. Have to wait and see. I'll stick around for now and see how it goes.

  3. Yeah, Haiti is a huge mess and has been for centuries. The optimist in me is hoping that good things will come out of the help we're sending them, but already we're seeing quite a few assholes taking advantage of the situation.

And yeah! Gotta love them shredding birds!

  6. I do agree Haiti was tragic long before this terrible tradgedy…not to take away from Haiti and their need because it is great…but here is a thought …wouldn't it be nice if we had as much empathy and desire to help our own people in need???
Greed is a nasty thing…when the powers that be are greedy they do self serving, stupid things!!!
I don't know what Adgitized is???
Stopped with Entrecard about a year ago…spent far too much time dropping, it does get you traffic but the trick is to keep it…I had to let go!
Here is to a great week!!!
    Cheers

  9. I never tried Adgitize but EC has truly brought me tons of traffics to my sites. Though not all of them really read my contents. I've known some great blogs via EC including this site. :)

I've never gone to adgitize so no thoughts on that. EC I've backed off from big time. I haven't given it up I just keep it there more or less to keep track of the blogs I like best. I find it easier to do the rounds through EC than going to my blogger dashboard. I tend to be slower on visiting and keeping up with my non EC pals.
Love that video of the bird. too cool

  11. Hi Glenn, Great post – a good example of one of the things that's so great about blogging is the ability to rant every once in a while. It's so true that people don't stop to look at the big picture – and quickly jump to an extreme side of a fence when a tragedy such as the earthquake hit. We are the police of the world, and right now it's a humanitarian effort that's needed to help those suffering and in need of medical care, shelter and food. Maybe now an effort can be put forth for the people of the country to demand a government that's not a bunch of thieves and actually create a stable enviornment for the people to live and take care of themselves. It's probably many years away however.

Same with the economy – many deregulated years will not be rectified quickly – it's going to be a very long, slow process that only radical change can truly repair. Perhaps 2012 is really a new age and the end of the old world – perhaps it's the age when people finally smack themselves in the head for being so blind and stupid to the world around them and finally lean out the window and shout that they're not going to take it anymore like Peter Finch in Network. We can hope can't we?

Adgitize has been annoying lately, I know it's helped my traffic as I've dropped some over the weeks it's been up and down. I know many people just come and click through – I stopped doing that myself long ago with both EC and Adg and just go back to my favorite blogs such as this one when I can. I do keep them on my blog however just as another source.

Birds playing guitar with their pecker is cool.  Justin Timberlake is not cool.  If you can’t man up to grabbing some Jackson titty, then you need to go away.  He set freedom of speech back 30 years by showing people the networks really don’t have common sense.
