You Can Call Me Four Eyes Now
One of the fun things we experience as we grow a year older. Is the ability to discern the difference between an i or a j, a 1 or l. Yup, the good ole 20/20 vision I once had when I was in grade school is no longer there. Unless I use a good pair of eyeglasses.
Now I am far from being vain and thinking about what kind or what brand I would decide on, never even entered my mind. That is until I went into the eye glass store in the mall and sat down to look at all the options on the wall in front of me. To be honest I felt I could get away with one of those cheap reading glasses you see at every supermarket and big box store. But noooo I needed to get prescription glasses. I was so lucky!!
Well after an hour which included a spiel on how I should have been there years earlier, the technician brought me over to the wall to look at all the different eyeglass frames. Now I am sure many of you, especially women really care on what kind of frame to pick out. They had Ralph Lauren to Dolce & Gabbana. How special is that?? Designers of clothes who know how to make an eyeglass frame look sexy. I don’t think so..
Between you and I , I could care, less my main worry was could I see better and would they hold up more then a month. But this was the shocker. The bill came to over $430. But they said to me, for another $50 I could get a second pair free. How does paying $50 equate to free? I paid my $75 few for my prescription and decided I could do a lot better online and I did.
I went to many different sites and decided on Glassesusa.com. Not only did they have a great selection, but offered free shipping and an extra 5% off !!
To make a long story short, I got my glasses yesterday and I can see again. Which means I can write more often and no more head aches from the strain. So today I am one happy blogger

I know all about this not being able to see thing. I’m glad you got a good deal on your glasses, but I’m more happy that you finally took care of your eyesight. It’s so very important.

OH NO! Not the wall of frames. I hate trying to pick out new frames. That’s probably the reason why I always wait way longer than I should to get my eyes checked. I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time I need glasses, the last time I paid around $300
…personally, I found that glasses on a man make him look more attractive. Maybe its just me

I am myopic. I Have been wearing thick eyeglasses since I was 16. I felt and looked so old so I decided to wear contact lenses when I was 19. I only use my eyeglasses now when I am infront of the PC or if there’s a need for me to give my eyes some rest from using contact lenses.

Mr. Glenn, thank goodness you did not pick out those white frames! I see so many of these in the local malls in the Philippines. Me, I could care less, too. I run around with wife beaters (sleeveless t-shirts), shorts, and plastic sandals.

I’ve been putting off the old eye exam. It’s been eons since I’ve had one, and I don’t wear glasses. My eyesight had always been really good.
But I suspect things have changed since my 40th, so it probably won’t be long until I join the 4 eyes club.

I have worn glasses for several years and every time I get new frames I am so overwhelmed. The cost of many frames is outrageous, but I always opt for the more stylish expensive ones. Haven’t yet attempted to make the purchase online as I like to see how they fit on my face first. Anyway, glad to read you made the plunge.

i just got glasses too and it was quite an adjustment. I think i was dizzy for about a week!
