The Dems Finally Shoved It UP The Republicans Ass

obama-mad

What took them so long? Why was it so necessary to continually hear how important it was to have a bi partisan representation to pass a health care bill? A bill, by the way that was not only needed, BUT already had the majority vote secured? Why did it take so long for Obama to finally grow a set of balls and ram it up the asses of the Republicans? Bill Maher said it much better then I could ever, and he did. here’s a quick clip of him doing just that.

PLEASE President Obama, don’t stop here. Don’t do the well known Democrat stance of winning one then backing down, like we won so let’s not push our luck!

All we heard from Obama during his campaign and his inaugural speech “It’s Time For A Change”. Stick to your plan, don’t stop here, keep the momentum going and you will find how many people here in the US and abroad will be right behind you. We DO need a change, we DO need to build our pride and our fortitude back!  We DO need to be looked at, not only by the rest of the world, but our own nation, as a people who are doers once again.

You did it once,  you can DO it again and again. We are here waiting, we are here wanting, we are HERE!! Now go kick some ASS!!!!

EXTRA BONUS

You have to watch this commercial, I literally spit out the soda I had in my mouth at the end it had me laughing so hard.

  1. Bill Maher is my hero! What a fantastic, eloquent, straight-shooting speech. I’m listening to it again. Hopefully, so is Obama :-)

    • Just vote Libertarian.

Get rid of ALL the “progressives” DEM and REP…….

      • I think the hell with all parties James, let us all just be Americans and take back our country and make it mandatory for all people to reread the constitution and remember what our forefathers and all the men who have died for our rights had stood for. NO WHERE were lobbyists given the control they now enjoy. It’s a shame we are now living in a two class system, the rich and the working poor. Also no where did it state that a sitting president can declare military action (war) without consent of the congress. We are a nation of very disillusioned and pissed off people.

        • Hi Glenn,
I say “amen” to everything you say but we need a party . The Dems and Rep have had their chance. I happen to think the Libertarian party would uphold our constitution. We need a true American constitutional revolution. Throw ALL the bums out. We have the power to vote, if nothing else.

        • If that were the case, the healthcare bill would have never seen the light of day.

Yes we do need change and yet, I didn’t find Bill Maher one bit amusing. What is so funny about one party ridiculing another? I think instead of a government making all my decisions for me I would rather have a government that isn’t so hell bent on making the other party look like a bunch of idiots.

    • Wholeheartedly agree, ann. Maher thrives on incivility and, ironically, political correctness.

To be clear, the health care bill stall had nothing to do with bipartisanship. The dems didn’t need the republicans. The stall was because so many dems had to be bribed for their votes.

As a small business owner who has dealt with years of payroll (REAL jobs), I’m so sick of being dictated into oblivion by these idiots in congress who have no clue how to run a business or create a real, producing job. They all eat at the public trough and few have any real life expertise.

And to vote for a bill that is UNKNOWN is unethical and appalling. How do you know you support it if you don’t know what’s in it?

I say vote them ALL out. Dems and Republicans alike. They are ruining our country for personal power.

  3. Hip hip horray. Wow! Bill is amazing. I loved what he said.

  4. I must agree with Ann. I am so sick of both parties spending far too much time thinking of ways to make the opposition look bad. The rest of their time seems to be spent on their own reelection plans. Where does the good of the people come in?

  5. I’m concerned and hope the essence of the bill doesn’t get shoved up my ass, as it’s scary that we’ll spending so much money and I don’t care what there trying to give us (and some of it is good) who is going to write the check to pay for the people who will have coverage that hadn’t in the past, I’m sure magically they don’t have the money to pay for it themselves, thus…it’s you and me and frankly when will it end..and I’m sad that as noted above by other commentate-rs there is no bipartisanship instead each looking for re-election to stay on the gravy train you and I also support. and by the way…they should either pay for their magnificent insurance coverage or take the one they just voted for. I pay for mine..dam let them start paying for theirs..I’d never approve us paying any politicians insurance including the president , wonder how much that would save us over ten years with our deficit. If I sounded like sour grapes…it’s true I am these guys dems and repubs make me sick….

    • Ladies, first I appreciate all of your comments and respect all of your convictions and how each of you feel. As you know, this blog is not one to focus on politics nor religion. We stay clear of both issues on purpose, because of two reasons. First we believe greatly that both subjects are very personal and your beliefs have been formed over your many experiences both good and bad in regards to these subjects, They are both serious issues and neither should be taken lightly, Secondly we steer clear from both subjects as this blog does not take itself seriously and we would rather not delve into what our own beliefs are, both political and spiritual.

That being said why did we decide to post a story on politics and also take the side of the Democrats. Mainly because the clip by Bill Maher was one we agreed with.

Why we do many posts on current events and many of them involve TV, we personally do not watch much TV, and when we do it is something based on entertainment. We never watch the news and haven’t in over 10 years. This was done on purpose, because unfortunately it became to negative and depressing. Labeling us a blog that sticks it’s head in the sand would be an accurate description.

The one theme that ran through all of your comments , was that you were sick of the bashing of each others party affiliations and that in the end, the outcome, of this bill was who would ultimately pay for it. Of course we know the answer to that.

The basis of posting article, came from all the times Obama stuck to “it is time for a change”. How it had to be a bipartisan effort. That in and of itself was something we believed he was not capable of. To us, it was a welcome relief that realizing bipartisan was not tied to the passing of this bill. As Mr Maher stated, we truly hope he doesn’t stop here after one victory. Changes are needed in many areas.

For years and years, the our great country has been on the down slope and universally looked at as a large inept government that no longer worked. Except in the amount of money and effort is poured into our military.

We are much more then two major political parties, we are much more then a has been. If our government does not make major changes in the way it governs, we are ripe for a major revolution. And in all honesty, we feel deeply that no matter what changes that are being instituted, revolution is inevitable and will happen most likely in our lifetime.

That in a nutshell, is why we make a concerted effort to make this an entertainment blog. A little slice of the web where you can get away from the harsh realities and hopefully have a laugh or be inspired by some amazing wonders that the human spirit can still conceive and achieve. We are not an optimist in regards to what the future has in store for us as a people. Both here in the US and world as a whole.

There are no borders any longer. The amazing levels of communication that is afforded to everyone, from a small village in South Africa to the beltway that encircles our nations capitol make us all a citizen of earth, period.

We hope we are wrong, very wrong, but now you know why we stay clear of many of the serious issues and devote our energies to the light hearted and many times the foolish parts of life.

Lastly we do encourage and embrace guest posts that are not on the same page with us. Being lucky to have a rather large readership, are happy to share other points of view.

  6. Yippie for the Dems. I’m thrilled this passed to be honest and Bill Maher is my hero. Glenn, by the the way, the video doesn’t work anymore.

    • Thanks for letting me know Lauren. It figures when we finally delve into a political post, it get’s pulled. The above long assed reply to the first few comments now confirms the fact that we will continue to stay away from politics and religion :-)

  8. Even though so many businesses have had to close down because of our economy I am now really concerned about small businesses that are left, will they have to close up shop because of this bill passing?

    • It’s really a shame, I was self employed for over 30 years and small business is what built America. Soon everything will be owned by large conglomerates. This is why we stay away from politics, it gets so depressing and people are becoming more apathetic or the opposite more hostile.

  9. This was definitely a post that could stir s*** up! My views on the whole bit is of no concern. What is interesting here is that no one is noticing how freedom is slowly being drained from each of us.

    Wake up & pay attention!!!

    • That your right on Lisa, 9/11 has seen a huge swift to quickly introduce legislation to take away many of our freedoms or as the politicians will tell you, help them defend you from the bad guys.

  10. Good one Glenn – and I’m thinking the guy in the beer commercial now has the cleanest mouth in town.

I can be a little vocal from time to time about politics, although I’m not a big follower of them – I do occasionally use my blog to point out my displeasure with out and out stupidity, or the absence of addressing the obvious that reps from either party can be guilty of. It is always interesting to see how political discussion can bring out the passion of readers opinions. Ultimately that’s always what I like to focus on – opinion. Each of us are entitled to one, and too often the inflammatory topics and views that can be skewed through the game of politics cause too many people to forget that simple right.

I think your reply above stating as to why you often choose to steer clear of politics was really on point and well said. I don’t always agree with Bill Maher – but I think this clip too was a great statement and frankly, hard to oppose.

So much division based on elephants and jackasses is so unnecessary, yet is too prevalent today in tearing us apart from within.

    Good job as usual.

    • We might not see each other like we did back in the winter. But I always enjoy your thoughts when you have the time to write. I know your busier then hell. Just make sure you give Chrissy a big hug from all of us. Actually just me, lol.
