Top Ten Insured Body Parts Of Famous People
Today is day 5 of rain and gloom here in New York . I just got back from my insurance agent and as I was driving I thought about what to post today on the MOB blog. While nothing jumped out at me, not that it rarely does, I was thinking day dreaming of what might be of some interest maybe even some fun.
That is when I thought of this list of what people insure. In particular what do people insure on their own person, you know legs, hands etc. I guess you can insure almost anything, as long as the mathematical statistics fall in favor of the insurance companies, they will more than likely insure anything.
How I arrived at my top ten list, is I went back into the archives. As I knew that the old Hollywood studio moguls used to insure their actors and actresses body parts in case they were in the middle of filming a movie and their main character got injured, thus delaying or worst cancelling filming the movie. So with that in mind I converted what each policy would be worth in today’s monies.
As you can see I have a picture of Gene Simmons as the lead in picture for celebrity insurance, because to me that is one iconic tongue and surely had to be insured. But alas I not only could not find it in the top 25, I couldn’t find it at all. So Gene if you’re reading this and indeed insured your wagging pleasure appendage, I will be happy to update the list. I will need verification though.
So without further adieu and lots of research I came up with the list top ten insured body parts of celebs:
10: America Ferrera, Actress: $10 Million Dollar Smile
9: Ken Dodd, Comedian: $10.6 Million Teeth ($6.2M in 1989)
8: Betty Grable $14.8 Million Legs ($1.2M in 1940s)
7: Rod Stewart, Singer: $15.5 Million Voice ($6M in 1940s)
6: Angela Mount, Wine Taster: Taste Buds $16 Million
5: “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen, Voice: $31.2 Million ($5.7M in 1980s)
4: Michael Flately, Lord Of The Dance, Feet: $40 Million
3: David Beckham, “Mr Spice”, Legs: $70 Million
2: Jennifer Lopez, Singer/Actress, : $300 Million
1: Mariah Carey, Singer.Actress, Voice, Legs: $1 Billion

A few on this list I’ve never heard of. Four years with no television and this is what happens. Very interesting post though.

Um, maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think you were looking at Mariah’s legs. For that matter, her legs aren’t even in the picture. Hmmmm.
You’re right, guess I got distracted, can you blame me? Why she needs insurance on her legs is beyond me, I could see other parts that I personally would insure and would be happy to do the inspection for her;-)
Glenn you left out Pamela Anderson’s crotch being insured for crotch rot, but I think she cashed in on that long time ago.

I have to say if my teeth were insured for 10 million, I’d be more than happy to let someone punch all of my teeth out. Well I wouldn’t be happy while it was happening but I’d do it for that amount of money
