What Do You Have To Complain About?

nick_vujicic

Some days we all fall into the “Oh Woe Is Me” trap. We all do it, some more then others, we usually have a word we use for that type of person “The Whiner”.  I, like everyone else am prone to those days.

What sets it off? Could it be waking up on the wrong side of the bed? Perhaps the credit card bills are much higher then you ever thought could be possible. You have a pain in your back and because it hurts you, you make sure everyone around you knows about it. Some people have real reasons to complain.

I have a good friend I found out later in our friendship that he had a personal struggle that, to me, is a very daunting problem. But I never knew about it, as  he never felt to bring it up to me. I think that is why I believe that he is not only a good friend, but an amazing person. They say birds of a feather flock together, and it is such a true statement.

Why are some people able to deal effortless with life’s struggles and others can’t deal with a simple hangnail? To me it comes from a strong mentor while growing up, like a father, uncle, sister etc. But inevitably those people who influenced them opened their eyes early in life how to deal the cards we are all dealt. We all know a few people like this and hopefully they are also in your close group of friendships.

Here is an amazing guy by the name of Nick Vujicic who it truly an inspiration to me. An extraordinary person !! Not because of his physical shortcomings, but because of his attitude and outlook on life itself. Why is it when we see a person with an incapacitating physical ailment that their inner strength and courage seems to grow stronger and more amazing, than people that have no physical difficulties? When I see someone as beautiful as Nick is, we love to share a little bit about them here at MOB. Maybe to motivate you, maybe to get you out of your funk. But most of all to ask you what do YOU have to complain about?

Some of you might have run into a story or two about Nick or even a video, but this is new and to me one of the best. In his earlier life, Nick tried to end his life, broken in the inside. But at age 15 he discovered the good book the Bible and after learning about some other extraordinary people who questioned the lord as to why, this is when the answers came.

Nick now travels around the world, 40 weeks out of the year sharing his story and trying to give inspiration and hope to others. Not because he was born without arms or legs. He does it because he is an extraordinary person, one who we could all learn something from.

To learn more about Nick he founded Life Without Limbs an organization to help all of us, look differently at life and more importantly at ourselves.

  1. I have never seen this gentleman before and I’m glad you shared this today. My Father is an inspiration to me now that I am older and more aware. My Dad suffers from several physical problems, nothing to the extent of this video, but as a kid, I didn’t even realize that my Dad had issues that not all people have. This is because he didn’t think of it that way himself.

    • Your dad knew the power of Positive Mental Attitude and seems to have never let physical shortcomings affect his minds eye. Thank you for stopping by as always!!

  2. Most of us dwell on what we don’t have instead of being thankful and enjoying what we do have. This guy should be an inspiration to all of us.

Yes I’m an occasional whiner but I had two influencing factors in my life. One parent who was the “poor me” type and one who was very strong and could smile through anything. This guy is truly an inspiration.

  4. No Complaints. No Problems. Life is a Beach.

“You can’t always get what you want…………….But in life sometimes…You get what you need………

    PLU.

  5. I’ve not one thing to complain about. Not one thing.

Have a terrific day Glenn. Super big hugs my very special friend. :)

  6. This guy is fantastic. I was surfing around on the tube one day and found him speaking in front of a stadium filled to the brim. I was awestruck and listened to his whole talk. Truly inspirational. It made me feel sort of stupid for worrying about things like a run in my pantyhose. Seriously. It’s ridiculous what I worry about.

    Thanks for sharing!

  7. As far as I can remember I already saw videos of Nick Vujicic three years ago. He is indeed a source of inspiration to us all. He motivates every person young and old. We need not complain what we have. In everything we should give thanks!

  8. I’m very glad that you shared this to everybody. Lots of people will come to a good realization about life. :D

  9. Nothing to complain at all. Not really
Thanks for making me notice that, even though it was a little shocking!

    • Only shocking by how we look at things and people. The lack of arms and legs, are more than compensated by his will and mind set.

  10. Wow… just what have I been whining about again? This goes to show that a day can be great based on a mindset. Like seriously, we should all learn from this guy. He is more than an Inspiration.

  11. I must admit, I am a complainer. But it’s just a way for me to vent stress. When I stop complaining, it means I’ve become overwhelmed. That being said, this guy is a total inspiration.

    • I think we all complain every once in awhile and most times it is justified. I find I can curb the urge with a big chunk of cheese with my wine :-)

  12. And yet, he still has a smile on his face. Nothing to complain about here at the moment.

  13. Wow…what an amazing man!!!
I would love to be at a venue where he was speaking, he has wonderful things to say!

    Cheers

More often we try to complain about our personal “disabilities” without really thinking that we’re fortunate than other people. Ironically, those people who are physically incapacitated are most of the time persevere more. If we could just learn how to motivate ourselves just like them, our world will be a better place.

    Regards,
    Matt

  15. Hi. I wanted to drop you a quick note to express my thanks. I’ve been following your blog for a month or so and have picked up a ton of good information as well as enjoyed the way you’ve structured your site. I am attempting to run my own blog but I think its too general and I want to focus more on smaller topics. Being all things to all people is not all that its cracked up to be.
